Camera & locating first
The line is camera-inspected and located, so the method is chosen from evidence: lining, pipe bursting, or open replacement.
Plumbing Service · Hermitage, TN
Trenchless sewer replacement can replace a failed line through small access points instead of an open trench across the yard. It is not right for every line, and we say so plainly: a camera inspection decides whether trenchless methods qualify, and an open repair is quoted honestly when it is the better job.

What to look for
Trenchless sewer replacement can replace a failed line through small access points instead of an open trench across the yard. It is not right for every line, and we say so plainly: a camera inspection decides whether trenchless methods qualify, and an open repair is quoted honestly when it is the better job.
If you have one of these symptoms, describe it when you call (615) 436-9486. The symptom, the fixture, and whether water is still running help us prioritise your visit and tell you what to shut off while you wait. If water is flooding, shut off the main valve first – see our emergency plumbing page for the steps.
How we fix it
Every visit follows the same pattern: find the fault, show you what we found, price the options, and only then do the work. No part is replaced on a guess.
The line is camera-inspected and located, so the method is chosen from evidence: lining, pipe bursting, or open replacement.
A new pipe is pulled through the old line, breaking the old pipe outward. Best where the old line has lost structure but the route is sound.
A resin liner is installed inside the existing pipe to seal cracks and joints. Best where the pipe is still round and properly graded.
Access points are restored, the new line is camera-checked and flow-tested, and the route is marked for future reference.
Hermitage homes
In established Hermitage neighborhoods, sewer laterals often run under yards, driveways, and mature trees, where open digging means restoring lawn, concrete, and landscaping as well as replacing pipe. That is where trenchless methods earn their keep, when the line qualifies. Where a line has collapsed, lost its grade, or shifted sharply, trenchless methods cannot fix the shape, and digging the failed section is the honest recommendation. The camera footage, not a sales pitch, is what decides.
Homes across Hermitage and Davidson County vary widely in age and plumbing material, so the same symptom can have different causes in different streets. That is why diagnosis comes first: a slow drain in a newer home and a slow drain in an older home with mature trees in the yard are not the same job, and they should not get the same quote. We explain the cause we found in your home, in plain language, before recommending a repair.
| What we find | What it usually means | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Cracked line, still round, grading sound | Lining may qualify | Lining candidate |
| Line collapsed or badly offset | Lining will not hold shape | Pipe bursting / open repair |
| Belly holding water, grading failed | Grading must be corrected | Open repair usually |
| Line under a driveway or patio | Minimal digging has real value | Compare trenchless vs open |
This table is a guide, not a quote. Your upfront price depends on the fault found, the parts needed, and access in your home. See our plumbing cost guide for typical estimate ranges, labelled as estimates only.
Simple & Straightforward
Call us. Tell us the symptom, where the water is, and whether it is still running. We find a time that works and confirm it so you are not waiting around.
Your plumber finds the actual fault, shows you what is going on, and explains it in plain words – including what you can safely check yourself next time.
You get your options with real numbers before any work starts. Repair it now, repair it later, or replace it: you decide, no pressure.
We repair, run water through the system, check for leaks under pressure, and clean up. We make sure everything works before we leave.
Why Homeowners Call Us
Questions
No. Collapsed sections, severe offsets, and lines that have lost their grade usually need open digging. A camera inspection shows whether lining or pipe bursting can work, and we quote the open option too when it is needed.
A correctly installed trenchless replacement is a new pipe system with a long service life, comparable to a new conventional line. Lifespan depends on material, installation, and ground conditions, and we explain the warranty for the method used.
Trenchless work uses small access pits rather than a full trench, so most of the surface stays intact. Access pits still need digging and restoration, and we explain exactly where before work starts.
From the camera inspection and locating: pipe material, damage pattern, diameter, grade, and access. If the evidence does not support trenchless, we say so and price the open repair instead.
Call (615) 436-9486 and describe the symptom, the fixture, and whether water is still running. We give you a time window, tell you what to shut off while you wait, diagnose the fault on site, and quote an upfront price before any work begins. Emergencies are answered 24/7.
Still unsure? Call (615) 436-9486 and describe what you are seeing. We would rather answer a question than have a small leak become a large repair.
